For product and engineering teams

Trivia API &
database integration.

Integrate licensed trivia content into your apps, games, websites and publishing systems. We supply structured questions in JSON, XML, CSV, TSV or XLSX, using our record structure or mapping to your schema. Trivia API integration is available on request, with payloads, authentication and delivery requirements scoped with your developers.

Structured file exports and project-based API integration. Illustrative payloads below; the final schema is agreed for each project.

A predictable handoff

Trivia content
delivery formats.

Treat the question set as structured content. We agree the shape of each record, provide a representative sample, and refine the export against your ingest process.

01 / STRUCTURED FILES

Work with our structure.

Start with a straightforward record containing the question, answer, question type, category, subcategory and difficulty. Add options for multiple choice or other agreed fields where needed.

02 / SCHEMA MAPPING

Or use yours.

Share your field list and sample object. We can map names, values and content constraints to your import model so your team does not have to reshape every record by hand.

03 / DELIVERY CHANNEL

Choose the route.

JSON and XML suit application workflows; CSV, TSV and XLSX suit flat imports and editorial review. API integration can be scoped on request.

Record design

Trivia database fields
and metadata.

We start with the information you need to select, display and validate a question. Field availability varies by question type and the agreed content set.

The names below illustrate a possible export, not a fixed public specification.

id Agreed identifier for your import and tracking workflow.
type Multiple choice, Q&A, true or false, image question, or another agreed type.
question Prompt text in the agreed language and character limit.
answer / options Correct answer and, where applicable, selectable choices.
category / subcategory Subject taxonomy for filtering and merchandising.
difficulty Agreed values such as easy, medium and hard.
media Asset reference and delivery details where an image question is in scope.

Need different enum values, column order or field names? Send us an example record.

Illustrative payloads

Trivia questions
in JSON and XML.

These examples show how a single multiple choice question could be represented. They are a conversation starter for your technical specification, not downloadable production files.

JSON question.json
{
  "id": "TQC-1042",
  "type": "multiple_choice",
  "category": "Science",
  "subcategory": "Astronomy",
  "difficulty": "easy",
  "question": "Which planet is known as the Red Planet?",
  "options": [
    {"id": "a", "text": "Venus"},
    {"id": "b", "text": "Mars"},
    {"id": "c", "text": "Jupiter"},
    {"id": "d", "text": "Neptune"}
  ],
  "correct_option_id": "b"
}
XML question.xml
<question id="TQC-1042" type="multiple_choice">
  <category>Science</category>
  <subcategory>Astronomy</subcategory>
  <difficulty>easy</difficulty>
  <prompt>Which planet is known as
    the Red Planet?</prompt>
  <options>
    <option id="a">Venus</option>
    <option id="b">Mars</option>
    <option id="c">Jupiter</option>
    <option id="d">Neptune</option>
  </options>
  <correctOptionId>b</correctOptionId>
</question>

For image questions, media references and asset handling are agreed alongside the payload. For open answers, the options array can be omitted.

Your schema, your conventions

Map our trivia content
to your schema.

Already have a CMS, game engine or publishing pipeline? Send a sample payload, field dictionary or import template. We will work through the mapping with your team before the full content set is prepared.

That discussion can cover required and optional fields, enum values, answer representation, character limits, escaping, media references and the treatment of empty values.

EXAMPLE SOURCE FIELD YOUR FIELD
question→prompt_text
subcategory→topic_slug
difficulty→level
correct_option_id→answer_key
media→asset_ref

Implementation path

From sample payload
to production import.

01 / SPECIFY

Share the target.

Send your schema, import template or representative record, plus the question types and constraints.

02 / MAP

Agree the shape.

Confirm fields, taxonomy, answer model, encodings and asset handling with a developer on each side.

03 / TEST

Try a sample.

Review a representative export in your staging workflow and flag anything that needs adjusting.

04 / DELIVER

Move to volume.

Once the agreed format is validated, the full licensed or commissioned set can be delivered to that specification.

Integration notes

What developers usually ask.

Is there a public API with documentation and self-service keys?

Our trivia API integration is available on request and scoped to your project. Contact us to agree the delivery approach, payload and authentication requirements before implementation.

Can you use our existing JSON or XML schema?

Yes, we can review your structure and map the agreed content into it. Send a sample record and note which fields, values and constraints are mandatory.

How are image questions handled?

We agree the asset delivery method and references alongside the question records, including how your application associates each image with its prompt and answer.

Can you meet UI character limits?

Question and answer length can be part of the content brief. Provide the limits for each field so they can be considered when content is selected or written.

Developer handoff

Send us your schema.

A sample object, XSD, import template or field list is enough to start the technical conversation. Tell us the volume and delivery cadence you have in mind too.
